JavaSWF2 is now available.

23rd April 2001

The lastest codebase (some minor fixes) is here.

The future of JavaSWF lies in a refactoring (currently under way) to create a SAX2 parser and consumer for converting Flash SWF to and from XML. The XML vocabulary is at higher level than the current XML representation of the SWF file format.

JavaSWF has been slightly updated and released under a new license - as requested by some interested parties.

The new license is based on the Apache License, with some minor restrictions.

This release includes some minor bug fixes, support for Font-2, Textfield, JPEG-2 (experimental), use of the Apache Xerces XML parser (in test files only) and some new Flash 5 ActionScript codes.  This release does not imply ongoing development for public consumption.

There is no new read-me.
